DETAILS
This will be an "orange carpet event" the night will include a cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner, entertainment, and testimonials from students and stakeholders. Founded by Emanuel Dupree Jackson Jr in 2014, the EJS Project is dedicated to teaching the truth, challenging systems, and fighting for its youth’s access to opportunity. EJS has five main programs that support and engage at-risk students ages 12 to 19 who live in low-income households. These programs include engaging students in City Commission meetings with the Delray Beach Police Department and other local initiatives. EJS youth also plan and organize activities to support beautification efforts in The Set, including students on organizational planning committees, quarterly reports to the Community Redevelopment Agency, and more. Students also participate weekly “Community Conversations” around race equity, leadership, and positive impact strategies with local leaders and professionals. We host a Career Day networking event and also other field trips geared toward helping our students develop into future leaders and making their post-secondary aspirations a reality. Strict guidelines and criteria are in place that challenges and hold students in the program accountable. These include school attendance, GPA requirements, and a minimal number of workshops that need to be completed before attending a teen-sponsored trip or event. We thank you for helping us to improve the quality of life for our students and their families and helping them reach their greatest potential.
